Today I went for a walk/run on the Provo Jordan River Parkway. I ran 1 min./walked 1 min. I am NOT a runner at all...so I thought this would be a good way to start training for perhaps a 5K. I talked with a friend that has similar hip problems that I do and this is how she trains to run. It felt fine this morning...actually it felt really good to get out and exercise!

great way to burn calories and not alot of injury. I run walk 5x's a week a run 4min and walk 1 i run anywhere from 3 to 6 miles at a time. i learned the techinique from Jeff Galloway at http://www.jeffgalloway.com/

Interval training is a fantastic way to burn calories, build up cardio vascular endurance AND work your way to running longer distances! Way to go!
